ROUTES & COFFEE GUIDE

We are firm believers in "coffee or the ride didn't happen." Which means we will always ride for a great café, bakery, gas station...whatever. Enjoy our collection of fav routes and we promise to keep adding to it weekly.

HOW IT WORKS

Each route includes everything you need to play your ride including the Strava route link and where to grab food/coffee too.

And if you're SF local, join our Strava club to ride some of these routes with us. We put on rides reguarly for all levels.

🗺️ ROUTE 01: THE OCHO

The Ocho is our home route, a figure-eight loop (get it...ocho?!) 🎱 that takes you up two rad climbs through Marin and back.

Plus, we do this route monthly in our Bird Ride with Pink Puffin. RSVP in our Strava club and we promise good miles, great views, and not a single bad vibe.

📍 Start: Golden Gate Bridge Welcome Center

📏 Distance: ~35 miles
🏔️ Elevation: ~2,500ft
🛣️ Surface: Road

Lisa's notes:
There's a few punchy sections on the climbs, but nothing you can't handle.

What to bring:
🐤 One bottle of Hummingbird Fuels, you'll thank me later
🐤 Layers (gilet, jacket, arms) the weather always changes quickly

Post Ride Hangs:
🥐 Lung Fung Bakery (1823 Clement St) grab some pork buns (bring cash) and then...
☕ Coffee Movement (1737 Balboa St) just up the road for coffee and hangs.

🗺️ ROUTE 02: Pie Run

When you don't feel like going over the bridge go south. This route takes you down the coast from SF to Montara, with ocean views, Devil's Slide, a world-famous Taco Bell sighting, and most importantly...pie. 🥧

📍 Start: Conservatory of Flowers
📏 Distance: ~46 miles
🏔️ Elevation: ~3,400ft
🛣️ Surface: Road

Know before you go:
⚠️ Expect wind around Devil’s Slide
🚗 There’s a short stretch of busy, no shoulder Hwy 1 riding after Pacifica to Devil's slide. It's a crappy but it's short
🌫️ Coastal weather ≠ SF weather. Bring the extra layer.
🥧 Do not turn around before the pie. The pie is the mission.

What to bring:
🐤 Two bottles of Hummingbird Fuels (one for there, one for return)
🐤 Layers (gilet, jacket, arms) the weather always changes quickly
🐤 Lights for daytime visibility (cars can see you better)

Mid Ride Hangs:
🥐 Sage Bakehouse (8455 CA-1, Montara, CA) grab some pie (fruit or meat) and a coffee. Both are amazing and the turn mid-ride turnaround.

🗺️ ROUTE 03: Magic Water

It's not every day you can hit up a natural spring. Or maybe it is? This is a great route with plenty of climbing and of course coffee. Then on the way back to the city, grab some Magic Water. 🪄

📍 Start: Golden Gate Bridge
📏 Distance: ~40 miles
🏔️ Elevation: ~3,800ft
🛣️ Surface: Road

Know before you go:
⚠️ Plenty of climbing until you hit Pantoll
🚗 Be mindful of cars on the weekend
🌫️ Coastal weather ≠ SF weather. Bring the extra layer.
🥧 The pastries at Parkside are great, but the coffee isn't. Still worth a stop, but just know.

What to bring:
🐤 Two bottles of Hummingbird Fuels (one for there, one for return)
🐤 Layers (gilet, jacket, arms) the weather always changes quickly
🐤 Lights for daytime visibility (cars can see you better)

Mid Ride Hangs:
🥐 Parkside (43 Arsenal Ave, Stinson Beach, CA) grab some pastries (they're awesome) and a coffee (sadly, not awesome) but whatever.
