Your questions about carbs and electrolytes, answered!

  • Hummingbird Fuels is a high-carb and electrolyte sports drink mix designed for endurance athletes. It’s made to keep you energized, fueled, and flying through your longest rides, runs, and adventures.

  • Yes, with sodium and sodium citrate you're guaranteed to stay hydrated and replenished.

  • Each 62 gram serving (or 1/4c) delivers 60 grams of carbohydrates and 170mg of sodium.

  • We recommend using a 22 or 24oz (650ml to 750ml) water bottle. This way you can optimize for consuming one bottle an hour for maximum fueling benefit.

  • Nope. Hummingbird Fuels was designed by a food scientist (who’s also an ultra-endurance cyclist!) to begentle on your gut, even at high intake levels. That means you can fuel big without fear.

  • Hummingbird Fuels is great for anyone doing any activity over an hour. Once you pass that 60 minute threshold performance starts to drop, which means you need fuel. We have consumers that are firefighters, construction workers and other folks that might not be considered "athletes" in the classic sense, but still work hard, over an hour, and require fuel to keep their performance high.

  • Hummingbird Fuels has a shelf life of a year and a half. You'll find an expiration date on the bag. Just store it in a cupboard or any dry place and you'll be good to go.

  • Absolutely! Some athletes make one super concentrated bottle of HBF (up to 120 grams, or two servings) and then take a second bottle of plain water.
